The show was partially officially released as the bonus disc included with initial pressings of the "KISSology Volume II" DVD package sold through Walmart. Sadly, the quality of this recording is worse than many collectors already have. That "official" version excludes "King of the Night Time World," "2,000 Man," and "Beth."

The following day the band took a day off lounging at their hotel in New Carrollton, MD. Charlie Crespo recounted the shows and day in a piece for Grooves Magazine, "KISS Blasts New Dynasty".

Wiki-poo:
The Dynasty Tour, also known as "The Return of Kiss", was the first tour since Alive II's tour ended on April 2, 1978 in Japan, and also the first to feature the famous flying stunt by Gene Simmons. This was also the first tour to feature Ace Frehley's "lighted-guitar" and his rocket-shooting guitar, where after his "smoke" spewing guitar solo, the still smoking guitar would float up. As it was floating upward, he would appear with another guitar, aim the neck at the floating guitar, shoot the rockets and blow it up. A trick was designed for Paul Stanley that involved him putting on a headset and shooting a laser out of his left eye to mock the effect seen in Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park the year before. After several run-throughs both Stanley and manager Bill Aucoin said no to the idea, citing the danger involved.
The tour, dubbed "The Return Of Kiss", also saw a decline in audience. Additional dates at the Pontiac Silverdome were cancelled. This was the last tour with Peter Criss on drums until 1996.
This tour is also famous for being the only tour to feature songs from all four members solo albums. Simmons performed "Radioactive", Criss performed "Tossin' and Turnin'", Frehley performed "New York Groove", and Stanley performed "Move On". Simmons' and Criss' songs were replaced with more familiar songs early in the tour. Criss' song "Dirty Livin" was reportedly rehearsed, but never performed.
Frehley stated in various interviews that Kiss was becoming a youth-oriented band. It was because kids were showing up dressed in costume and makeup for their shows along with their parents. As a result many teenage fans felt alienated and were turned off by the band.

KISS - "The Show of Shows"Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale, New York September 1st, 1979

Wiki-poo :
Simmons a interprété "Radioactive", Criss a interprété "Tossin' and Turnin'", Frehley a interprété "New York Groove" et Stanley a interprété "Move On".

In the spirit of Christmas as well as to celebrate the induction of Kiss into the R&R Hall of Fame, I thought I'd share a rare, unreleased recording. This one comes from Roanoke, Virginia during the early part of the Dynasty Tour. It includes the 4 tracks that were played from all 4 solo albums and cuts off right after Peter's "Tossin' and Turnin'".

Notes:
From a local review: "The Kiss concert had been viewed by many in the community as a possible crowd control problems, but none were witnessed inside. Instead, a youthful crowd cheered and shouted as one of the most bizarre groups in rock music went through an 80-minutes set with a maximum of flare" (Dyke Hendrickson, Portland Press Review, 7/29/79).
KISS briefly held the venue gross record, before being surpassed by a $113,791 Frank Sinatra concert in October (though he only played for 7,593 fans).

Mainstream press review:
"Let us put Kiss in a humane perspective; that is, if I had been writing magazine articles for seven years and were only known for puking blood on my desk and having skyrockets go off in my typewriter, I would be real depressed. Even if millions of twelve-year-old boys bought belt buckles emblazoned with my face painted like a tree toad, I would have to question my professional competence to write a sentence. So let's all help keep Kiss off lithium and not say their music is lame. We know it. They know it. Millions of twelve-year-old boys don't know it, but they aren't going to figure out music until their pubic hair grows in anyway.
Let us instead praise the Kiss Stage show, which has too many neat special effects that your pubic hair retracts and you become twelve-years-old again and the music doesn't matter. Get this, man: Gene Simmons does this weird bass solo and vomits blood all over himself, just like he always does, but then they hoist him about fifty feet over the audience, where he sings "God of Thunder" with a good imitation of the Christmas bombing of Hanoi exploding all around him. And Ace Frehley shoots skyrockets out of his guitar, man, and Paul Stanley clocks the heels of his eight-inch platforms in, the air, man, and Peter Criss does a drum solo on a hydraulic lift that is lifts him almost as high as Simmons is over the stage lights, man.
Okay, not that much was new (only Simmons' hoist, really) and nothing was spontaneous, but that has always been, the Kiss philosophy: give 'em what they want, only more of it. Kiss would label this democracy. Critics call it demagogy. Whatever it is, it works for the same reasons religion does: it's mystical and awe inspiring, and twelve-year-old boys don't get that in church. Unlike past Kiss stage sets this one is built low to the ground, presumably so they could sell seats behind the stage in large auditoriums. Since they didn't sell seats behind the stage at Madison Square Garden (Kiss' booking agent says this was intentional; the Garden's box office says it wasn't), one can assume there was no demand. Kids on Long Island and New Jersey still buy the myth of instrumental prowess and go for macho jack-off guitar work. Through maximum macho jack-off, Kiss is minimal prowess and must look elsewhere for their strongest audiences.
The opening act, New England, was yet another loathsome attempt by Kiss' management, Aucoin, to generate a second Kiss without makeup. Naming the band after a geographical area (I can think of ten others offhand) is as close as these shitheads have come to originality. I didn't see any licks, aural or visual, that weren't copped directly from Boston. This is, of course, the way Kiss, started cashing-in on a trail blazed by Alice Cooper. You gotta give these half-wits credit for tenacity" (RS #300, Sep. 1979, Charles M. Young).

KISS - "New York 1979 1st Night"Madison Square Garden, New York City, NY July 24th, 1979
