FBF is a very unusual photo of Bob from 1972. Most of you only know his handsome shaved head. He started losing his hair when he was 16, and he certainly hated this happening when everyone was growing their hair very long. The Meat Loaf photo I shared recently showed a hair piece he wore, and in time with support from some of his close friends he shaved his head. That look was something very strong for Bob. Not everyone can have a shaved head, and still be a striking Rock Star! Bob looked amazing, and it became part of his persona. Women were attracted to him, and he would always shine in a crowd, (and I mean that affectionately). That is the story you asked about regarding his scalp. I love the comb over here, and the Afghan jacket, so hippie like, for 1972.

My late brother Bob had connections with other major artists besides KISS. In 1977 Bob and I were chosen to be the dual lead guitarists in support of Meat Loaf’s “Bat Out of Hell” release. The tour lasted a year, and “Killer (Bob) and Pretty Boy (me)” toured the world. That was how Meat introduced us on stage. This photo was taken at the CBS label convention, which showed the record company what a powerful band and artist Meat Loaf was. They poured in the money, which would get the LP on the radio and put Meat Loaf on the map in a huge way. If you want to hear Bob and I live, performing with Meat Loaf just check out a re mastered CD of the original Bat Out of Hell, the songs are Great Boleros of Fire (intro), and the title track. I am on the left, Bob is on the right from your stereo. It was recorded in 1978 at Nassau Coliseum. Featured from left to right in this convention photo are: me with mustache playing a '63 Stratocaster, Steve Buslowe on bass (from Paul's solo LP) Meat Loaf, and Bob Kulick playing a Koa BC Rich Mockingbird. Yes he has hair, but that's a long story. My dear friend Joe Stefko's bass drum in photo.

FBF, Bob in 1968. Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King assassinated, student protest, Chicago Democratic Convention, Vietnam War, Nixon elected. But my late brother was classy, and sassy as a cool cat could be. Handsome as ever as an 18 year old, even with a comb over hairdo. RIP

FBF is a promotional photo of my brothers band called Observation Balloon. It’s taken around 1968-69 and you can sense the late 60’s vibe from the clothing and attitude. It was the time of popular hit groups like The Lovin’ Spoonful and The Rascals. His NYC band was another influenced by the British Invasion of the mid to late 60’s. Bob seemed very playful and happy in this photo. It’s a great memory for me to share.

" Bob Kulick RIP 16/01/1950 - 28/05/2020"

In May, 2014, I did a long interview with the late Bob Kulick, mainly about the Balance reunion. This excerpt focuses on his performance on Paul Stanley's '78 soloalbum, writing the Kiss song Naked City and a future album with brother Bruce that sadly never came to fruition.
