“He is a hero of mine,” he says. “I would have never thought I would know Peter Criss, let alone having him play on one of my songs, so it was a true honor. I can’t say enough great things about Peter. He is the best. He is a great person, an incredible drummer, and musician. I’m lucky to have him on that song.”

Peter Criss has shared two new videos to celebrate the arrival of 2022.

The original KISS drummer, who turned 76 on December 20, has posted clips of him playing a "rock drum solo" and a "Spanish drum solo" at what appears to be a room in his house. Check out the footage below.

Criss first left KISS in 1980. Since then he's worked with other bands and released solo albums. He teamed up with KISS again for a reunion tour in the 1990s and most recently in 2004. He was replaced by Eric Singer.

In addition to playing drums in KISS, Peter also provided lead vocals for a number the band's most popular and memorable songs, including "Beth", "Black Diamond" and "Hard Luck Woman".

Criss, who was known as "Catman," released his last solo CD, titled "One For All", in 2007. Peter produced the album himself for the first time, and was joined by guest musicians that included keyboardist Paul Shaffer and bassist Will Lee of "Late Night With David Letterman". The album featured a range of styles, from rock and jazz to blues and Broadway, and included covers of "What A Difference A Day Makes" and "Send In The Clowns".

Criss played what was being billed as his final U.S. concert in June 2017 at the Cutting Room in New York City.

Guitarist John 5 recently gave an interview to Guitar.com in which he expressed his feelings about working with Peter Criss, who is known as KISS’ former drummer.
Apart from working with many successful artists like David Lee Roth, Marilyn Manson, or Rob Zombie, John 5 is also a successful solo artist. Back in 2004, he began recording instrumental records for his album’ Vertigo,’ and from then on, he has released a new solo album almost every following year.
John 5 has worked with many guest artists throughout his solo career. For instance, Albert Lee appeared in his ‘Songs For Sanity’ while his other records featured Steve Vai, Jim Root, and Joe Satriani. ‘Sinner,’ his latest album released on October 29, 2021, included the contributions of Dave Mustaine and Peter Criss. An avid KISS fan and collector, John 5 revealed how he felt about working with Criss in a recent interview with Guitar.com.

As the guitarist said, the cover of ‘Georgia On My Mind’ features Criss’ drumming. He stated that the drummer is among his favorite people on earth, and he willingly wanted to collaborate with him on the song. Moreover, John 5 said that Peter Criss played the drums for the song effortlessly as if it was like breathing to him. According to John 5, it was because Criss loves jazz, and one can notice jazz licks in lots of early KISS songs.
In the interview with Guitar.com, John 5 said the following:
“The last cover is ‘Georgia On My Mind,’ which is one of my favorites, featuring Peter Criss. Peter’s one of my favorite people on this earth; he loves jazz. I was just going to finish it out with like a solo guitar, jazz guitar, and I said, ‘Pete, would you play on this song?’. He said, ‘Sure, I’d love to.’

Man, I tell you, he sat down at those drums and just played it effortlessly. It was like breathing to him because he loves jazz, and you can hear in a lot of those early KISS songs – those are jazz licks in there. And then we caught him talking a little bit before we started recording. We used a little bit of that.”

Creatures Fest 2022 will take place Memorial Day Weekend, May 27 - 29, 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee at the Sonesta Nashville Airport Hotel. Get ready for three nights of live music.

Original KISS drummer Peter Criss has been added to the lineup, which already included KISS alumni Ace Frehley, Vinnie Vincent, and Bruce Kulick. Organizers have confirmed that Criss will be doing meet & greets, and performing a few songs.


Thus far, eleven Creatures Fest performers have been announced: Ace Frehley, Vinnie Vincent, Bruce Kulick, Quiet Riot, Enuff Z'Nuff, Vixen, Trixter (acoustic), Pretty Boy Floyd, Kuarantine, John Corabi, and Kore Rozzik.

Peter Criss has been added to the lineup for the Nashville Creatures Fest, which is slated for Memorial Day weekend on May 27-29.

Three other former Kiss members are also slated to perform at the event. Ace Frehley, Vinnie Vincent and Bruce Kulick will be part of a rare joint appearance featuring all four living non-active Kiss alumni.

According to the event's organizers, Criss will perform a few songs, though it's not clear which night of the festival, as well as participate in meet-and-greets with fans.

The first night of Creature Fest will feature Frehley as the headlining act. For the first time, he will have the audience help pick portions of his set list. "Everybody's who's purchased tickets to Creatures Fest ... will have the opportunity to vote on songs," promoter Neil Davis said in a Facebook video. "As Kiss fans, we always say the songs that we'd like to hear at live performances. This is our chance."

Vincent will headline the following night and plans to have a tank reproduced to resemble the one used on the band's 1983 Lick It Up tour. Davis claimed the tank will be "fully functional, not a prop." Kulick will close out the weekend of performances on Sunday.

Davis noted that Criss is scheduled is undergo knee-replacement surgery on March 16. Whether or not he plays drums at the festival will be based on his recovery and the doctor's advice. Regardless, Criss will sing at the festival.

Original KISS members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss will perform together at this year's Creatures Fest, set to take place May 27-29 at Nashville's Sonesta Nashville Airport Hotel. Also scheduled to appear at the event are former KISS guitarists Bruce Kulick and Vinnie Vincent.

According to Creatures Fest promoter Neil Davis, Criss will join Frehley on stage during the guitarist's May 27 set to play a few tracks.

"They both spoke, said they were excited about being at Creatures Fest; they were excited about seeing you, the fans," Davis said. "And they talked, and they just thought that what would be great for the fans, for all of us, is if they got together and played some songs during Ace's set."

Vincent is scheduled to perform on night two of Creatures Fest, while Kulick will close out the event on Sunday, May 29. The festival will also feature performances by QUIET RIOT, ENUFF Z'NUFF, VIXEN, John Corabi, RETURN OF THE COMET and PRETTY BOY FLOYD, among others.

Criss first left KISS in 1980. Since then he's worked with other bands and released solo albums. He teamed up with KISS again for a reunion tour in the 1990s and most recently in 2004. He was replaced by Eric Singer.

"I'm on good terms with Paul [Stanley, guitar/vocals] and Gene [Simmons, bass/vocals], which is nice, because we created something really special in the early '70s that has outlasted so many other bands. And God bless 'em. They're still doing it; I'm still doing it. Peter is still around. I'm not quite sure why Peter hadn't toured over the years as much as I have, but it is what it is."

Vincent — who was a member of KISS when the band publicly "unmasked" in 1983 — made several public appearances in 2018 after spending the preceding two decades out of the public eye.

Bruce joined KISS in 1984, and accompanied the band on the "Animalize" tour and continued with them until the reunion tour. Bruce is heavily featured on "Kissology - Vol. 2" and "Vol. 3", the band's DVDs spanning their historic four-decade-plus career.

Here’s some exciting news for KISS fans: According to the promoter of the Creatures Fest event, taking place May 27-29 in Nashville, founding guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss will reunite to perform a few songs together during the first night of the festival.

Frehley and Criss, as well as two other surviving former KISS members — guitarists Vinnie Vincent and Bruce Kulick — already had been announced as part of the Creatures Fest lineup, but promoter Neil Davis announced in a video message posted on Facebook that Peter had just agreed to join Ace during the latter musician’s previously scheduled May 27 headlining performance.

“They both spoke, said they were excited about being at Creatures Fest, they were excited about seeing you, the fans,” Davis says in the clip. “And they just thought that what would be great for the fans, for all of us, is if they got together and played some songs during Ace’s set.”

Neil continued, “I don’t know about you, but I’m speechless about this…It’s gonna be very, very cool. I know talking to them that they are both really excited about doing this together, about playing some songs.

Davis added, “I don’t know what they’re gonna play. I don’t know if they’re going to let us know. It’ll probably a secret, but whatever it is. How cool!”

Creatures Fest also will feature performances by Vincent and Kulick on May 28 and May 29, respectively. Also performing at the festival will be Quiet Riot, Vixen, Enuff Z’Nuff, ex-Motley Crue singer John Corabi and others.

The event, which will be held at the Sonesta Nashville Airport Hotel, also will feature ticketed meet-and-greets with the various performers, a pool party, expos and more.
