W.O.W. is the first solo studio album released by Wendy O. Williams in 1984 after her group, the Plasmatics, broke up .

In 1982, KISS asked for Wendy and the Plasmatics to appear as a Special Guest on their tour. By the end of the tour with KISS it was clear that, although the formal notice that Capitol Records didn't come for another for six months, the relationship with Capitol was done. Gene Simmons approached Wendy and Rod about producing the next Wendy O. Williams album. So as to avoid any wasted time in legal issues with Capitol Records, it was decided not to use the Plasmatics name on the record at all and was simply called W.O.W., the initials for Wendy O. Williams. Gene Simmons felt it would give him the freedom he wanted to add more new players to the album.

Wes Beech remained to play rhythm and lead and T. C. Tolliver, the drummer on Coup d'État, remained to play on the new album. Gene Simmons would play bass under the pseudonym of "Reginald Van Helsing", the only other new player on the album was lead guitarist Michael Ray to solve the technical challenges that had been a problem for several albums and had come to a head with the more complex music of Coup d'Etat. Gene also pulled in the talents of Ace Frehley, on "Bump 'N' Grind" who hadn't played with KISS since leaving the band in 1982, Paul Stanley, on "Ready to Rock" and then-current Kiss drummer Eric Carr on "Legends Never Die" as guests. The record was released through Passport/JEM.

Gene Simmons himself co-writes five tracks (which also carry the names of Plasmatics bassist Junior Romanelli and lead guitarist Richie Stotts, who aren't actually on the album).

Ace Frehley arriving at the Biltmore  hotel 7/21/93 with George Sewitt (Ace's manager) and Mark Normand (bass player) in Providence, RI.
Ace was on the "Just For Fun" tour, and playing at the Strand in Providence that night. At 1 minute and 55 seconds 1:55  Ace says "Who's the fucking guy with the video camera?" and then George Sewitt says "ya can't video tape him" and "ya wanna be his friend....." George had us turn off the camera in order to get an autograph. After we got the autographs, we walked away a bit and video taped Ace and George and Mark get the luggage out of the van and walk in to the hotel.

in 1995, Space Ace and late KISS drummer Eric Carr were inducted into the RockWalk a few years after the official KISS induction.  Peter Criss, Ace Freely & Eric Carr were all inducted in 1995 just about a month apart cause scheduling prevented Ace from being inducted at the same time as Peter.  Ace was cemented in along side the rest of the members of KISS inducted previously.

On this episode of Roger the Wild Child Show, we are joined by keyboardist, guitarist and lead vocasls of Ace Frehley's hard rock group, Frehley's Comet, Tod Howarth and singer, guitarist and producer, the LVictoria!

TOD HOWARTH

Tod Howarth is an American rock musician from San Diego, California.  He is best known as serving as a keyboardist, a guitarist, and vocalist for the melodic hard rock group Frehley's Comet, led by former Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley.  The band recorded three albums and produced four music videos before the line-up ultimately dissolved, with Frehley moving back to solo efforts.

Howarth's music career began in the early 1980s with the group 707. He has also performed with Cheap Trick and Ted Nugent and released four solo albums, the first in 1995. He also provided background vocals for Nugent's Penetrator album in 1984, and Loudness' album Hurricane Eyes in 1987.

Howarth joined Cheap Trick again in 2008; at the 30th anniversary 2008 Budokan show, he was seen on stage playing the keyboard and supplying backing vocals. He was originally scheduled to participate in the 2008 Journey / Heart / Cheap Trick tour, but budget restrictions[clarification needed] caused him to be unable to participate.

On December 14, 2008 Howarth released an acoustic version of the Frehley's Comet classic "Time Ain't Runnin' Out" exclusively on his MySpace page.

Howarth's latest solo album, Opposite Gods was released independently in April 2010. In June 2012, he released a video single on YouTube of his single "Cold Beach", filmed on location in the California desert. The video was shot and edited primarily by Vancouver producer Brian Sword.

In June, 2016, Howarth, along with ex-Frehley's Comet bassist, John Regan, ex-Skid Row drummer, Rob Affuso, and guitarist Pat Gasperini, released an album under the band name Four By Fate. Entitled Relentless, the album was released by The End Records.

Howarth also performs at charity events, such as Stand Down for veterans and their families.
